The House GOP is abandoning their former strategy (and Trump’s furious demand) that they include the SAVE Act in the CR. House leadership has unveiled a CR to fund the government through December 20 without the voter ID requirements. Details have not been revealed, but it’s likely to continue funding at current levels with some limited plus ups to things like defense and disaster response. Like everything else of any consequence this Congress has done, it will pass due to Democratic votes.

Confusing line about PA
So what do the polls say about which states we should we look at? Here’s where the calculations are hardest. Polls vary in quality and frequency at the state level, making it difficult to truly assess the relative “winnability” of different states.

Moreover, there are at least a dozen realistic combinations of states (and parts of states in Nebraska and Maine) that can lead each side to victory — or to a 269-269 tie. One cycle’s pivotal states are often different from the previous one. In 2020, the pivotal states were Georgia and Arizona. In 2016, it was the “blue wall” of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. And in 2012, Obama took former Republican strongholds Florida, Ohio and Virginia.

What’s it going to be in 2024? Could it be the Blue Wall again? Or perhaps a combination of Georgia and Pennsylvania? The polls will point to any number of states, but just like in 2012 and 2016, the states that determine the election might be different from what we expected.

We are headed for the home stretch. So far, according to the polls, the ups and downs of the campaign are fewer than we want to imagine.

How voters "feel" about things. No facts needed.
Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index is currently at -28, indicating Americans’ attitudes about the economy are negative, on balance. The rating is derived from the 22% of Americans describing current economic conditions as “excellent” or “good” versus the 48% saying they are “poor,” and the 32% believing the economy is “getting better” versus the 62% saying it is “getting worse.”
Gallup.com

Apparently the incumbent party is always blamed. But the "economic confidnece index" of 2024 is at -28 whereas it was -72 in the Bush recession. So it is the economy ...and it isn't.

I've built a tolearnce to Trump. And the one and only Harris Trump debate was OK in that he lost.

But I could not listen to Vance yapping more than 30 minutes.

Apparently, near the end, it came out that Vance is only there because "Trump wanted to hang Mike Pence."

I think lethal injection is the preferred method.

Seems that the harder JDV tries not to appear weird the weirder he appears to be.

He could very well be president at some point in the next four years. I wouldn't count on Trump to survive till 2028. It's a genuinely revolting prospect.

Former Colorado county clerk Tina Peters sentenced to 9 years for voting data scheme
A judge ripped into a Colorado county clerk for her crimes and lies before sentencing her Thursday to nine years behind bars for a data-breach scheme spawned from the rampant false claims about voting machine fraud in the 2020 presidential race.

District Judge Matthew Barrett told former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters — after earlier sparring with her for continuing to press discredited claims about rigged voting machines — that she never took her job seriously.

“I am convinced you would do it all over again if you could. You’re as defiant as any defendant this court has ever seen,” Barrett told her in handing down the sentence. “You are no hero. You abused your position and you’re a charlatan.”
