I disagree. I've met a number of Americans, and found them to be really nice people. I've also met a few Muslims and they were really nice too.
This idea that the US is the home of freedom is pretty ridiculous. The amount of government spying that they are subjected to is totally incompatible with the idea of freedom. Not to mention the Patriot Act, Department of Homeland Security, and whatever the even more insidious act was that replaced the Patriot Act. And their elected governments do the bidding of corporations not the citizenry.
