Mandela interpreter defends performance

The sign language interpreter accused of using fake hand signals at Nelson Mandela's memorial has said he suffered a schizophrenic episode.

Thamsanqa Dyantyi, 34, told South African media he "started hearing voices" and began hallucinating.

Deaf viewers at the memorial service said he was "signing rubbish", and complained he was a fraud.

Mr Dyantyi has apologised to anyone who was offended by his performance, saying he saw "angels" in the stadium.
:funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny:

Which would be funnier? This is what he actually believes happened, or this is the best excuse he can come up with?
The lucidity of account concerning a psychotic episode from the deranged....well documented. If he has a formal diagnosis from a genuine medical facility fair enough, otherwise he's abusing the great get out of jail free card of mental illness, to get out of jail free.
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?
