I read the book as a youngster and thought it was ok in a harmless Bang Bang sci-fi sort of way.

You should have come away from the book with the Message of Scientology, as that's why he wrote it. Went over the heads of a lot of people, me for example. I was largely bored with it, but when you're at sea you're access to new material is limited.

Avoid National Treasure and National Treasure 2. Pantomine level performances, infant school level script.

As for Angels and Demons. Dear, oh dear. A largely random succession of increasingly expositionary scenes, interspersed with dull action sequences. Rubbish.

Travolta should have been expelled from Hollywood after that.

Funny, I was just reading some reviews of Russian director Timur Bekmambetov's films Wanted, Day Watch, and Night Watch. I suppose I was looking for positive reinforcement, to confirm my suspicion that these were in fact the coolest fucking movies ever made. Imagine my surprise when a fair few reviewers called these films rubbish!
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Dude! I just watched Ice Age again recently when I was laid up after my surgeries. Couldn't do much, so I was going through my DVD collection, right? Anyway, I loved Ice Age like crazy. So I figure, okay, I gotta watch the second one now. But when I did, I was like, WTF?! Everything they got right about the first one...well, they seem to have forgotten it the second time around :?

Night Watch isn't too bad.

Day Watch on the other hand...

The original was pretty good I thought (perhaps not great). I went to see it with my daughter and her best friend when she was about ten or eleven - which helped! The second one was a bit crap, but the third was just abysmal - and in 3D it was just an excuse for bits of the pictures to pop out at ya and startle you now and again!

Ullee's Gold. Avoid like the plague. The only film ever I walked out on. And I used to watch close to 100 movies a year, so that is saying something.
