Yeah, it really helped when Mao died, and Castro retired . . .

klr: Even if he had an epiphany, he couldn't do anything about it. The right-wingers in the military know that his superhuman status is all propaganda, since they made it up and forced the population to swallow it. KJI also has to be afraid of them. If he's not belligerent enough, they'll take him out and fabricate a new regime with a new hero and new propaganda.

Gawd: True that. Just wishful thinking. I'd love to see the North some day before it gets buried in iPods, McD's, Wal-marts and hip-hop CDs. A fella can dream, I reckon.

I know the feeling. Cuba is one of the great repositories of 1950s American cars. They'll vaporize if the barriers come down. I know one collector that's already making deals with people "down there."

I know, but I just like the idea of him finally realising the awful truth in his dying days.

As for the military leaders: They are likely more realistic than he is, and hence more amenable to reason. Mind you, there is plenty of evidence (both historic and current) to show just how loopy people can be. After all, it was the hotheads in the Japanese military that were the main cause of prolonging the Pacific war for so long, even though none of them were treated as a living god.

This guy made a killing when Paraguay or Uruguay or something like that started allowing their old cars to be exported. He moved a bunch of them to Argentina and shipped them out from there. ELEVEN cherry '57 Chevies in that batch.

That's not remote when you look through the 'scope. You can see their faces when the impactor arrives at center of mass. Sweet.

I don't see a problem. Any thread I start, I start with the assumption that we may well be talking about the projected international economic impact of the hypothetical existence of pumpkins on Neptune on the nipple-piercing industry in Normal, Ill. within, say, 10 posts tops. All's well. :levi:

(Just the outskirts of Normal, mind you.)
