Obama's not bad for a 90s republican.

I still can't figure it out how Regan became president in the first place. What experience in leading a country like USA does he have, other than playing a cowboy saving the day in the ghost towns of Texas?

What credentials did Swartzenager have to become a governor other than playing a "terminator" in movies giving gullable people impression he's gonna get rid of bad guys.

He's secretly a Scotsman.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

He was governor of California for two terms? That's about as close to leading a country as you can get, considering California is the 8th largest economy in the world.

I'm no fan of Reagan, but he deserves some credit for his political career.

Barack was a state senator for two terms, and a US Senator for a total of three years before he became president, which isn't that much experience either. And, I think being a governor is closer to being a president than being a senator is.

Regan: I highly doubt that major decisions or any decisions were made from his own wits. In addition, late in his presidency, I'm not sure he was even aware that he's the president of the USA, since his Alzeheimers was starting to kick in.

As far as the "governetor", the state of California is in such bad shape financially, and that is "who's" responsibility? Obamas?

I'm tempted to think like this, also...

But then I have second thoughts, and consider the impact that America has on the world...

Then I have third thoughts, and realise that the inexorable momentum of American effects on the world, for good or bad, is little influenced by the character of one man...

Different times. The US had a massive surplus of productive capacity in the thirties but now it is a parasite on the global economy. If it goes kaput the rest of the world will have some chaos as trade wids shift but then the lack of a mega-parasite will mean a large economic boom across the remainder of the industrialised world, whilst the US decends into a North Korean fuckwittery of it's own it'll be party time elsewhere.
