I may get around to reading more of this thread, but I wish to point out just how offensive this question - presumably asked on either the assumption that I'm not muslin or that I'm a friendly rabid atheist (both correct) - is to me, right off the bat.

I rather hope that if and when I do read the rest, you've clarified that I'm wrong in my interpretation here, but I ask you to re-read to where I cut off your question and ask yourself about your own biases and what could possibly prompt such ugly assumptions about people you simply do not know. e. The Qu'ran (and I have read it) is a very poor moral guide
f. The Qu'ran is demonstrably false in many of its factual claims
g. It causes a lot of people to be opposed to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of thought, etc.
h. It causes a lot of people to be hypersensitive about their religion, and to riot of little things like cartoons.
i. It motivates a great deal of terrorism in the world
j. And, again, it's false.

There are more, but those are enough I think. I really do hate Islam. As a religion, I think it really really sucks ass wrapped in bacon.

I just did. I don't have a serious problem with all Muslims. But, I do have a serious problem with Islam in general, and I have a serious problem with any Muslim who takes Islam seriously. If someone happens to be Muslim, but be sort of "reformed" and mellow about it, not really take it too seriously, then that's cool. I used to chat with the Muslim store owner by my house and we would joke a lot. He was not at all devout - almost non-practicing - and thought the devout Muslims were freaks, though. A good friend of mine from ages ago is Muslim, but he also doesn't take the religion seriously.

Nobody can build a Jewish temple or Christian church there, etc. It's a disgusting society controlled by an extreme form of Islam which is set up as matter of law - it's a theocracy. Gross.
