try reading it again...I said he may have lost the plot OR there was a valid reason to revoke permissions of certain moderators e.g. a few moderators went postal because of the announcement and completely lost the plot.

that said..I should clarify that I'm just speculating. I'm not a member of the angry mob sticking knives in richards back and stiking pins in joshs eyes. I'll prefer to reserve judgement when the full facts are known and that won't be until the dust settles...everyone calms down and the red mist clears.

by the way...you should really have a look at this: http://www.rationalskepticism.org it looks great.

You can definitely count me out on that! :td:
but I'm quietly (or I guess not so quietly, as I'm writing about it here  ) feeling that justice is being served.

We already have!

And apparently your definition of reserving judgment is flawed.

mozg wrote:I think the worst part, for me, is not that Dawkins and Timonen wanted to change the site. It's that Timonen is going to such lengths to destroy all that information and seems to be on a personal mission to ensure that the community must die.

It's not enough for him to just not have the community posting on RD.net... He seems driven to ensure that it not exist anywhere.

I can't imagine why or what harm could come from it.

Timonen: This community and the way that it operates is no longer welcome here.
Community: We can all go elsewhere and live out our lives in peace, continuing our community outside your reach.
Timonen: I can't let that happen either.

WTF?
It's called being a tinpot dictator... you can't let your disgruntled subjects go live as they like elsewhere, or you'd soon be ruling over a desert.
No fun being a tyrant if there's nobody left to tyrannize.
