Re: Sincerest condolences to RDF staff

Post by rezling » Wed Feb 24, 2010 1:48 am

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff who made the former RDF forums what it was. In my relatively short time there, I had been challenged not only intellectually, but also as an person. Despite being rejected and betrayed by nearly all in my life I thought I could trust, I have found strength, solace, and distraction in a community built by the dedication, and hard work of people I don't even know. I am merely an outsider, but I honour those who had the passion and heart to know what was important.

Cheers :td:

It's nice to see you made the jump. I was hoping you'd find your way here. :td:

It has been an absolute travesty what has been done to the members, and much more the hard working moderators and admins. Though we are for the most part all together again, which is important. :pirates:

Agreed. RDF will struggle to find mods as good as these

We have, for some weeks, been trying to make the case for preserving the community of RD.net. All, it seems, for nought - the change was dropped on us, despite the promise of further consultation on the new format. Happily, those who made RD.net will now have more time to spend with other communities such as this one.

Thanks ratz! :td:

+2 Well said Made Of Stars :hugs:

If the RDF staff didn't care about the membership and the community we wouldn't have been putting in hours of our personal time to keep it running. All of you guys are fantastic and I'm glad to see so many familiar names here. A huge thank you to Rationalia for allowing so many RDF refugees to sleep on your floor. :huggeroo: :huggeroo: :flowers:

I think it's only fair that you all say nice things about the Ratz staff as well. And give us cheese. Lots of cheese. Mmmmm.... Cheese... :cheese:

To the RDF staff: I'm so sorry for what has happened and for how you were treated. I've always admired how you handled so many difficult aspects of your work, and all the effort you put in. I'm grateful to you for all you've done.

Thanks about a billion!

I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.
