I don't consider his comments to be personal attacks per se. In any case, Nineberry seems to have suspended himself.

In terms of priorities personal safety and security, the right of ordinary people to go about their lives unmolested and safety is topmost as far as I am concerned. The police need to be allowed to do what must be done to restore that.

However..the kids who are doing this know how bleak their futures really are. The graph goes downwards from here on in, at least for a while. This may not be planned, may not be intellectualised, but basically they are in a position where they have nothing to lose and they don't give a fuck.

The issues are serious and complex. They aren't about the usual polarised, petrified and frankly increasingly tedious positions the far left and far right nit pick over here.

Don't expect people to listen though. Knee-jerk reactions are much simpler than tackling the underlying causes of systemic rioting. No, let's just put it down to the inferiority of "the other" and let the police crack down on it. That'll sort everything out.
