Who are you killing?b.ternarius wrote:I still wonder if UT is the final scum, tbh. I don't think UT is anywhere as cleared as everyone seems to think.Mantisdreamz wrote:huh, this is too bad.
but 4 scum in a 16 player game......plus an sk. could this make sense? we have been given a lot of town specials. tracker, seer, doctor, and UT's role of protection.
i guess we see what happens tonight. it'd be great if b.t didn't make a nk.
the whole town pm - and the lack of stating that all threats need to be eliminated is a bit fishy. maybe b.ternarius is a form of investigator? which would still reconcile with the wording of the pm
I don't entirely understand the point of my not making a kill, either. The victim, whether town or scum (and for my own sake I hope it's scum), will reveal the final alignments, at least I think it will. If I don't, town will go through the whole tiresome 'kill b.tern' argument and ignore the reality of the last scum still hanging off their necks.
Also "fishy", well of course!

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 4
If there is a benefit, I haven't discovered it. I've never had a similar role. My role pm did not indicate any ability to communicate with my chosen player. I had guessed in the first couple days that the effect was to prevent Athene acting against me, like lynch-voting me for example. But it seems not. I think the only real effect is the suicide on my death thing.Uselesstwit wrote:something is not making sense here. b.tern is an admitted indie, what's the point of having a recruit if the person remains as town with the same win condition? The only thing I could see would be they can communicate with each other and that makes the nights 3 and 4 duplicate actions even more suspicious.
has anyone ever heard of a role where you choose someone for a teammate like that but nothing happens? And btern admits that she gets to choose another one if athene dies. I just don't buy that aza made a role with the ability to take a teammate that didn't alter the chosen persons role at all. It would be pointless, there has to be something about choosing a teammate that in beneficial to b.tern otherwise it wouldn't be in the role.

You aren't asking advice on this night's move, in night chat. Unless you've asked advice on your view this night and I missed it.Athene wrote:You'll notice that I wasn't godkilled for asking advice. You're making excuses. If you are alligning with town then change your night kill to no kill.b.ternarius wrote:Can I? I'd want to hear from Aza on that option. In ordinary circumstances night chat does not affect that very night's moves.Athene wrote:you can change your mind about it, providing the next day hasn't gone up.
I am aligning with town. There's no turning back now, and I've made myself a prime candidate for the scum kill this night. It's entirely possible scum has already killed me, since I'm giving town a second kill per day/night cycle.
For me to do no kill tonight, even if I can change my move, is not in my own self interest at all. I don't think it is in town's best interest, either, but that has to be secondary to me surviving to endgame. I don't win with town, unless town wins and I'm still alive.
Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 4
before the double night I asked advice. Look at the rules - does it say not to discuss night moves?

Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 4
I am such a paranoid SOB, I'm starting to wonder now if athene didn't recruit b.tern, it's the only thing I can think of that makes sense of the outing. Unless it is just another town penalty.
But no matter what b.tern, if you want town to buy your story at all you have to not kill anyone tonight. If there is another scum(which I truly truly doubt) any kill you make except for them will end the game for town. If you really believe there to be another scum, we'll know by the night kill tonight and you'll be second on the lynch list again.

B.tern, I know you have seen my previous posts - who have you put your kill in for. Please tell me it is not UT.
Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 4
I agree with UT. If b.tern makes an NK tonight, we would have to lynch her tomorrow.
Re: The Innsmouth Look Day 4
we'll have to see what the situation is tomorrow, if there are 2 nks then we still have a scum member left and if we want a town win then we need to find that scum member.
b.terns comment earlier leads me to believe she targeted UT for her kill, that's an incredibly stupid thing to do if she is aligned with town as UT is about as cleared as you can get without being actually viewed. If you've done that b.tern then you need to change it ASAP

i'm just having a tough time trying to figure out if it's just that Aza made a mistake on the pm wording, and b.tern the sk, really does need to be lynched in order for town to win. or whether there is another scum... r.c

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
