Re: Movies of the good kind we have looked upon.

This was surprising and frustrating at the same time.
Surprising because what looked to be an action movie with minor sci-fi elements (in that the protagonist gets a chip installed into his broken spine to help him move again) in the trailer turned out to be a futuristic, cyber-punk movie with body-horror elements similar to early Cronenberg.
Frustrating because it was hampered by cheesy dialogue and massive plotholes and absurdities which could easily been patched by spending just a little more time on the script.
There was some great camera work in here and brutal action scenes; which unfortunately the trailer gave away.
Still. I would keep an eye on this director.

I'm not a horror fan but this was so highly recommended I watched it last night. Amazing film (in Korean with subtitles). The Train to Busan. (I had nightmares...)

Passengers, I like the big ideas behind the film. It will disappoint the nihilist in you. Like I said it's the ideas that are interesting. I'd like to see it remade in a darker fashion.
“The Turkey Trot, Grizzly Bear and Other Naughty Diversions”
“Starting as if in the good old-fashioned Two-Step, the dancers suddenly let go hands, the man slipping behind his fair companion, there is a little step and a hop, something like a turkey might be expected to do, then a fresh grip around the waist of the young lady, the man snuggles up ever so closely behind her and they hop, skip and jump and half run along.”

Want to see Nicholas Cage lose his shit in a bad trip of psychedelic rage in a movie which evokes Mad Max, Hellraiser, and Heavy Metal, against a Christian death cult viewed through a glass of Tequila Sunrise?
Of course you do.

Never go to the flicks anymore. The sound and smell of popcorn; disgusting. Why is the sound so loud?

I miss the old fag smell and the gentle sound of shagging.
