German's what? Which German?

"A philosopher is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. A theologian is the man who finds it." ~ H. L. Mencken
"We ain't a sharp species. We kill each other over arguments about what happens when you die, then fail to see the fucking irony in that."
"It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favor of vegetarianism while the wolf remains of a different opinion."

Very sad that this has happened. I wonder what the cause for this was. It seems to me a fuel line ruptured and fuel was ignited, but what caused that fuel to spill in the first place?

Also, respect for the pilot, he knew full well that the airship would lift once the passengers jumped off.

Tragic.
Incidental, the last pilot of the Hindenburg was the uncle (or was it great uncle

) of a good friend of mine. One degree of separation.
Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

I quite like airships. There is a hanger for an airship quite close to where I live and I go over and take a look at it from time to time. As far as I know there aren't that many accidents with them, certainly not a stragic as this at least.
