Its not as good as the others. Its aimed at younger kids than normal. Beautiful to look at and is never too baby-ish.

I just finished watching The Fog of War.

Well worth it. The depiction of small-town, early 20th century religious views is nothing short of terrifying.

Just watched The Invention of Lying. Had some atheistic ideas I liked and a romantic feel-good vibe I didn't care for. It raised a couple of chuckles.

What's the last movie you watched?

I saw why some people said it could've been cut down a bit (At 1st, I thought it was just a case of impatient filmgoers... You know, that type that can't appreciate a film like Fanny & Alexander because of its running time.). There was a bit of extra fat to it. However, it was pretty decent... a nice mix of drama and comedy.

"Futureworld"

1976 movie. Maybe would be better enjoyed while intoxicated?

We just watched a Serious Man.

It was pretty funny. And strange. And the ending, well...

It's up for an Academy Award, so I wanted to see it before the awards tomorrow night. We're watching the Hurt Locker tonight.

I watched it last night as well. I had no idea it was set in the late sixties. Holy shit that brought back memories
I liked the movie. It was a great drama, and at the same time very funny. But I kept waiting for something to happen. I mean, it seemed like the tension kept building and building, and I was kinda expecting the lead character to, like, snap or something as his life fell about before his eyes. I thought for sure that in an effort to regain control, in response to his feeling more and more powerless, he'd finally resort to violence. This is a Coen brothers movie after all. But nothing, really, just...

...the tornado.
...which I suppose is symbolic of the character's whole "tsuris." But if so, it seems kinda redundant

Mai, did you notice that the lead character sounded a lot like Elijah Wood :ask:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I watched A Fish Called Wanda last night. Hadn't seen it in years. Wasn't quite as good as I remembered. The English cast gives great performances, and John Cleese and Michael Palin are in top form. Kevin Kline was a little obnoxious, though, and I found Jamie Lee Curtis absolutely insufferable. I know Kline's character was supposed to be obnoxious, but his obnoxiousness ventured slightly outside the confines of his character. He didn't bother me too much, though. It was Curtis's performance that made me wince. She wasn't believable at all, and watching her on screen only made me uncomfortable. It didn't help that her character itself wasn't believable. I mean, the men in the film would have to be complete idiots not to see they were being manipulated by this woman. But I think if she were a better actress, I might have been more willing to suspend my disbelief.

Now I need to get Nuns on the Run, another Python film of the same time period. I wonder if it will be as great as I remember, or if I'll be disappointed by it as well.
