The 1968 Republicans would probably frown at this Pepe le Piu bullshit they cry about now.

Shithead lies about gun violence. Warning, facts are checked in the article below. Our leftist brother from the north can safely ignore this one.
'GOP Rep. Boebert Bizarrely Compares Firearm Killings to Murder by Hammer'
In the wake of a mass shooting that left 10 people dead in her state, freshman Congresswoman Lauren Boebert brought some insensitive snark to an interview on the topic by suggesting hammers are more lethal than firearms.
“In America, we see more deaths by hand, fist, feet, even hammers, and, you know, are we going to start legislating that away or are we going to be like these other countries who even ban knives?” Boebert said, “I mean, if hammers are the cause of more death than firearms, then maybe we need to start having background checks on hammers. I mean, look out, Black and Decker.”
According to the data platform Statista, annual deaths caused by firearms (handguns and other types) in 2019 numbered 9,649; annual deaths from personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.) and blunt objects (clubs, hammers, etc.) numbered 997. That means guns killed 8,652 more people in 2019 than personal weapons and blunt objects combined.
So when Boebert says that we see “we see more deaths by hand, fist, feet, even hammers” than guns, she is lying.
Maine has one of the lowest murder rates in the country, or the lowest, yet most of our murders are by gun. I've never heard of anyone getting murdered by a hammer up here.
I do have a surreal story about that though, if y'all are interested. If not scroll on now.
I was a postal worker in Massachusetts, and somewhere around 20 years ago I was sorting bundles of tv guides on the dock with a friend and new co-worker we didn't know. He was maybe 20 years old. The bundles were of 6-10 each. My friend and I were entertaining each other with light-hearted humor, when out of nowhere, at point blank range and as hard as he could, the other guy planted a bundle right in my face, then immediately apologized profusely. What could I do, so I scratched my head and let it go. A few hours later we were back inside and the boss asked us if we'd seen him, which not since he punched me in the face with Oprah Winfrey, so we said no. Yada yada yada and when I got home it was all over the news that the kid killed his mother with a hammer.

I guess I dodged a bullet that day!
