Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
Trump approval falls below 40%:
A new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll pegs Trump’s approval at just 34 percent, the lowest in four years of tracking opinions of the president’s job performance. More than six in 10 voters — 63 percent — disapprove.

Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late
Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
Republican congressman minutes ago: It's not possible to figure out what crime trump would be guilty of, a rigorous analysis of what happened. it's impossible to say if Trump meant for his followers to go to the capitol to peacefully protest or to invade.(he did not say invade, I think he said insurrection)

Typical, the average American sits in jail while the powerful reinvent philosophy to keep one of their own out. Oh, who among us has the wisdom to see clearly whether this man is guilty or not, how can we know!?

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
Tom Cole is wrapping up the Republican side, preaching unity. He also complained about process. That there were no witnesses and no study of what happened.
The witnesses can appear in the senate part.
Yet it is Trump that is on trial. It's sort of irrelevant how Trumpsters reacted. They reacted in a bad way. They could have done worse.

Since Trump made a perfect speech and has no regrets, GOP defense will be weak. Susan Collins saying, later, that once more Trump has learned from his mistake will be laughed at.

Elsewhere:
This is as close to yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater as it gets.
Response:
"Your Honor, when my client yelled, 'Fire,' he was merely expressing his opinion that there may have been a fire present. Was there actually a fire? Who knows? But he has a First-Amendment right to freely express his opinion. Yes, it's a tragedy that so many people died in the panic, but my client certainly didn't tell anyone that they should panic and crush or trample others. And yet, the district attorney is persecuting my client for merely expressing an opinion."

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
It's been mostly procedural votes so far. Democrats do not need commissions or committes to look into the matter to write reports. The want the vote to impeach today. Senate impeachment managers (from house) already have their speeches written.

Kushner interferes in Trump's desperate attempt to "tweet" during impeachment.

Re: All Things Trump: Is it over yet?
I hear everybody who has business dealings with the frump group is breaking all communication as fast as they can, even Ivanka's bank... If that trend proves more than a random event, rump would probably be the first man to be worse off financially and businesswise for having been POTUS

What I really want now is for Forty Two to comeback and put a positive spin on all of this madness, in a thread called "Donald Trump, A Track Record of Accomplishment".

We could start a list without him. Our member from Yellowknife has also encouraged us to find positive things about Trump, so why not start one now?
1) Trump has ensured that eleven murderers will never ever be able to perpetrate another evil crime.
2) Trump may have caused a serious split in the Republican Party. (Cautionary note: This one is a tad speculative.)

He'd just give us copypasta from some list that's already out there.

3) He has more impeachments than any president in US history. So much winning.Hermit wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 7:50 pmWe could start a list without him. Our member from Yellowknife has also encouraged us to find positive things about Trump, so why not start one now?
