Baroque music was played badly until1980. Some of it was good music, you could tell. But everything was recorded again from 1990 with musicians not trained to play 1800s music at all. On baroque instruments or copies of.

I don't know about that. Milstein's and Gould's Bach was very influential, and pretty good, and Britten conducting the Brandenburg's was what got me going on my JSB obsession.
