Sounds like paradise to me. It was a 'feels like' of 11C here yesterday at lunchtime. In the bloody sub-tropics!

Re: The post corona virus thread.
Is it safe to play tennis with the infected?
World number one Novak Djokovic said he is "so sorry" after becoming the latest tennis player to test positive for Covid-19.
Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki all revealed they had coronavirus after playing at Djokovic's Adria Tour competition.
Djokovic, 33, played fellow Serb Troicki in the first event in Belgrade.
In a post on Twitter, Djokovic said it had been "too soon" to stage the tournament.

Looking ahead, are we moving towards a situation where we're going to be presenting ourselves to each other, socially, at work, at the shops, etc, masked?

I think that we might after Corona is gone and if Trump hasn't started a world war until then, go Asian and use masks in public during cold seasons.

Yeah, I wear specs, and masks just steam them up. But I was thinking how part of the fall out from SARS in the Far East was the routine wearing of masks even 15 years after the outbreak. For some people at least it seemed to be a habit that was very hard to break, so much so that it's become quite unsurprising to see Far East tourists wearing masks in European cities. But if 'masked' is to become a new social norm for us then it strikes me as being quite a profound change in the nature of our social interactions.

To prevent the issue with the glasses, shape the wire at the top of the mask so that the mask really closely fits your nose and so that there is no gap that air could flow through.

Getting those masks is almost impossible atm. I have a couple of snazzy paisley ones my mum ran up for me on the sewing machine and a couple of the blue paper surgical single-use masks, which I'm reusing.

Re: The post corona virus thread.
The surgical type ones should come with a wire. There are templates for sewing your own ones with a wire. Mask without wire are probably a lot less effective because there are then huge gaps where air can flow through.
Re: The post corona virus thread.
Our government is supporting crafters to make masks locally. The crafters are making them beautiful, and folks are wearing them as fashion.
I remember it being suggested that failing to dispose of masks when contaminated, required a very robust cleaning process in order to re-use them.
My guess is that those processes won't be available for regular folks...so a bit less effective.
For myself, I just continue to use the masks I've been using for years, and clean them by the same process. It's been a hankie, tied around my nose and mouth bandit-style. It has been good enough for my purposes, even if it does tend to fog my glasses.

The Chinese were wearing masks because of air pollution.

Re: The post corona virus thread.
Even now with all the confusion some people are not wearing them on public transport. The easing of restrictions as per 1st. of July will cause even more confusion.

That's not the only reason. I have several co-workers from China and Taiwan. And in February they were all like "Why isn't anyone wearing masks in Europe? Are you people crazy?"Scot Dutchy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 3:52 pmThe Chinese were wearing masks because of air pollution.
