No, they will not issue national ID or use your SS number to let you vote. All elections are tied to a district and a single polling place.

It's note a thing.Because there are records of every registered voter in every county. If you just moved there, you show up in person to register. If you have a social security number, you probably get to vote. You check YES under US citizen. If you aren't, you can be deported if you voted.

Voter ID always made sense to me, in the same way that one would require ID to drive a car, own a gun or purchase real estate.
