Sure there's conflicting information, but that's coming from politicians who are by profession lying bastards who want to cloud the issue to their benefit, and the news, which can't report health and science issues worth a crap.

The approach to slowing the infection rate is what it always was. Wash your hands often, clean surfaces that get touched a lot, don't touch your face, wear a mask, and keep distance between people as much as possible.

That's what hospitals have been doing for years and it works, not 100%, but like seat belts enough to be worth doing. Credit where credit is due, that's not my analogy, it's from the Medical Director at a clinic I work for. She was an infectious disease nurse before going into management.

Some politicians openly admit to politicking. Some work quietly behind the scenes, owning media companies and steering public opinion in more subtle ways.

My closest 'homies' work in laboratories. From tech's to oversight of the department, as a matter of fact. I try to soak in many perspectives on best practices.

Oddly enough, my note through the 'front door' of government, asking for more direction around running groups, has yet to be answered. (good news, as it probably means my current system presents no immediate concern, and I expect they are busy)

There is an equally good argument for vigorously doubting the authorities. Especially lately.

Human bias multiplied by phacking (slightly distinct from 'P-Hacking', in that it is unconscious) can create some really skewed results across a wide swath of field. Remember the lab-produced mice problem?

US President Donald Trump says he ordered authorities to slow down the rate of coronavirus testing because it was adding to the number of COVID-19 infections being recorded.

Mr Trump described testing as a "double-edged sword", saying: "When you do testing to that extent you're going to find more people."

"You're going to find more cases, so I said to my people, 'Slow the testing down please.'

"They test and they test and we got tests — people don't know what's going on. We got tests, 'We got another one over here'."
