Trump says the numbers in America are great. Very small numbers. Someone else who hasn't understood exponential growth.
Numbers are already dropping. Sorry the scaremongers will have to find other things to scare us with mind you at present they are doing a great job. At 16,500 deaths world wide the numbers are small especially when the top five nations account for two thirds. Even in a small island of Sint Maarten (a friend of mine is working there) there is panic and all they got are two cases.
Do you think the measures countries have been and are continuing to taking have had, will have, or are having, any material effect on the situation? That is; do these action make things better, worse, or about the same as it would've been without them?

If you find that you're unable or unwilling to answer that question could you explain way, please?

Even if House and Senate agree on X trillion, Trump won't sign it.
Trump strikes me as a person who seeks validation in praise. He'll sign the bill if he understands that not signing will bring more criticism than signing it. Does he really want to go into an election with half a million dead Amerians on his hands just in order to protect business profits? Like any head of state/leader at the moment, he needs to be able to say that he did everything he possibly could.

But the money is there for supplies and stuff for the viral cases already.

This is just bail out money for business and 1200 dollars each adult.

I'm just saying we won't get new ventilators and hospitals with anything Congress is doing. It's not that bill anymore.

How many ventilators is Trump/FEMA sitting on?

Here’s what is particularly disturbing about the Trump regime’s unwillingness to send most of its ventilators to New York. Donald Trump knows he won’t win any electoral college votes from New York in November anyway. Is he sitting on the ventilators so he can give them to a red state or swing state when a major outbreak happens there? Trump appears to be playing games with Americans’ lives yet again.

Hadn't heard about that. I heard Barr recently threaten hoarders.

In perhaps unrelated news, Apple just donated their 9 million mask stock to the effort. It shouldn't be surprising or creepy at all that they had so many. I mean, look how many facebook had, right?

A promise of 2000 or 4000 ventilators to NY was made.

I heard a 'gang valve' was 3d-printed to turn one machine into a multi.

I wonder if all those CPAP machines floating around could be altered...they do seem to be programmable.

Stealing them from the rest of the world. The Philips factory in America that makes the ventilators says Trump is using an old law out of the '50's to requisition its production when it should be fulfilling orders from around the world.

Why should they, when Dutch ventilators would be so much better?

Do you think the Chinese Government deserves gentle treatment?
Nope.
How does that make Trump less liable for this mess?
He's made a mess in your country? Maybe you guys should close your boreders, like we have.
:fp:
We have.

Would you like to answer my question?
I'm not sure what you are claiming he is liable for...is it something he convinced the leader of your country to do?
You are perfectly aware.
...but I'll repeat, so you can't weasel out.

Trump underplayed the crisis, and took action only after the situation became uncontrollable. Millions of Americans will get ill because he didn't take advice and act sooner.

Now answer the question.

Is this the question you are waiting for?

I don't know how to answer. He, like many leaders, fucked up things. I think the Chinese gov't fucked up first, and bigger, but it is still playing out.

The biggest story about Epstein is how disinterested the entire media seems to be about the Epstein story.

It's like the reverse of a conspiracy.

While Epstein does not have a medical or epidemiological background, he is a fellow at the Center for Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago and had worked on research about the spread of AIDS during the 1980s and 1990s. Amid what he called a "full state of panic," his March 16 article boldly declared that the total number of deaths from COVID-19 would top out under 50,000 and that in the United States we would see "about 500 deaths at the end."

In fact, at least 537 Americans have died from COVID-19 as of today.
