Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

This is terrible! Suppose you rent the smallest Leerjet or a Mustang, you might need to pee sitting down, exposing yourself! How is a guy supposed to get to Mar-a-Lago to golf with Trump?https://esapolitics.blogspot.com

737-800 this time:
Initial data showed that the plane involved was a Boeing 737-800 operating as Pegasus Airlines Flight 2193. A thunderstorm passing by the airport at the time brought gusty winds to the area, the Flight Safety Foundation said.

Re: Airplane and airline stuff
Gives you great confidence in an airline.Southwest’s maintenance record has faced scrutiny. In 2008, the FAA proposed a $10.2 million fine against the airline for failing to conduct mandatory inspections for fatigue cracks on some of its planes. Southwest, which is based in Dallas, settled the case by agreeing to pay a $7.5 million civil penalty.
Last month, the Transportation Department’s inspector general said Southwest flew used planes it bought without verifying their maintenance and repair histories. The agency added that, “Many officials throughout FAA have expressed concern about the safety culture at Southwest Airlines.'' The airline denied the allegations.
"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".

2nd day of full lockdown in Dublin Airport. I feel like I'm tending a corpse. Yesterday I had my PS4 in and completed DOOM Eternal. Today I begin an online course in web design.
All of duty free is shuttered and locked. All bars and restaurants closed. Half the gates are closed and powered down. Offices and car parks are empty. Outside planes from Ryanair and Aer Lingus are grounded with auxiliary vehicles and equipment neatly lined up beside them (this prevents them looking simply abandoned like an apocalyptic scene).
I wish I could work from home.

Re: Airplane and airline stuff
Coronavirus solves Boeing problem? Planes of any sort no longer needed:
The plane-leasing firm Avolon has canceled orders for 75 737 MAXs worth $8 billion at list value, it said Friday, in what could be the beginning of a flood of deferrals and cancellations for Boeing BA and Airbus as the coronavirus pandemic decimates air travel.
As the grounding of the 737 MAX stretches past one year, more customers will be able walk away from orders without penalty due to material adverse change clauses that kick in if the plane maker fails to deliver within a year of the agreed date.
“We already have enough planes for the next four years,” he told Forbes. “Every single person who has contracts to buy a plane doesn’t want them right now.”

Re: Airplane and airline stuff
737 vs 787 orders
https://seekingalpha.com/amp/article/43 ... ve-certain
737 Max has 37 rows, 6 across, whereas the 787 has 41 rows but 9 across: To use those planes, airlines will have to have fewer flights on those routes, more passengers each. They also make more income on the larger economy plus seats.
Routes using 737s will hang on to old planes longer. Such as 737-800
