Chicken isn't so bad either. I don't feel sorry for the animals I eat. They just aren't that healthy.

Free range. It’s the only meat I eat now - and that rarely. Healthier animals, less carbon.

Having said that I’ve lost about 30 lbs during the process of my bowel op and illness and I’m currentkt just stuffing my face with whatever is put in front of me to gain some of it back.

I'm hoping that humans will be able to use solar charging instead of eating food. When you feel peckish, you reach for your cellphone and plug in.
Solar ears would be good for charging the phone. :ear:

One thing I don't get is that say there is a field with no cows. Surely the same amount of rain falls on it anyway?

If there are fewer cows, there will still be the same amount of rainwater falling per hectare. So where does the water saving come in?
Plants will still take in water and there will be transpiration, plus whatever water sinks into the soil still sinks into the aquifer.
OK cows do drink some of the water, but they must piss out the same(ish) volume. No?

It must b the water used in their feed production, transportation, slaughtering, packaging etc as well as each cows individual consumption.

The water used in feed production must be at least as efficient as cows just eating grass in a field surely? Otherwise it shouldn't make economic sense.

Cows don't eat grass from fields. They stand in buildings and eat stuff that are delivered to them.

Fields don't only use rain water. Fields use irrigation. Water is being sprinkled onto the fields nearly 24/7 for months.

Then the thing is that a cow must eat a lot of grass to produce a little bit of meat. If instead of growing grass for cows, you would instead grow plants for direct animal consumption, you would need a lot less land and a lot less irrigation water to produce the same amount of calories. (vegetables compared to meat).

I only buy grass fed, free range, organic, beef from cows who live in lovely passtures and are serenaded daily by wandering troubadours and massaged by nubile Japanese girls dressed like Sailor Moon.

I'm woke as fuck, y'all.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I'm sure some will liken that to Vogon poetry. But I am sincere when I say it's poetic lak.

As a good centrist, I'm all about compromise. We eat vegetarian about 3 times a week, so I've at least taken a minor step towards saving the planet... :tea:
