I wouldn't call that cockatoo very clever, but it's certainly persistent.

We have urban gulls in most cities now. Some are pretty aggressive too. Some towns have had to provide gull proof refuse bags.

I’ve actually been dive bombed twice by the fuckers. Once resulting in a scratch on my head. The really should be culled.

RECIPE FOR ROAST GULL
1) Kill the seagull by carefully placing the bag of chips in the road. The seagull flies down to eat the chips, and gets hit by a car.

2) Collect the seagull carcass, and roast on a low heat, on a bed of turnips.

3) Serve with the bag of chips.

4) Wash down with the cyder. Mmm!

Yep we use the bright yellow refuge bags supplied free by the council. One half of the district has been fitted out with silos. We have to wait because all the sewage pipes are being renewed (they are 30 years old) and then we will get the silos.

Snowed in an AFL game for the first time tonight. Southern Australia is getting a big polar airmass over it. Lots of snow down to low levels.

Edit: Whaddabout that, global warming alarmists?!!

Yeah, how can global warming be real if there's still snow? Huh, Mr. Smartypants Scientist? And what about monkeys. Why they still around? Huh?

Can't explain that, can you?
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The shitstorm passed me by, but we got some fantastic rain on Wednesday. 16 mm in half an hour. Spread over a longer period would have been better, but you know what they say about gift horses. In the evening there was a 4 mm bonus. I could get used to this coming down, say, once or twice a week.

Store it up for the hot times later, Hermit...

We've had 21 mm over the last couple of days, with more predicted. The tanks are all full, and I don't need to water the veggies...

On Wednesday we had 36mm in the 12 hours between 7am and 7pm, of which 14mm fell between 4-5pm - just the time I was walking home from the station. I was wet to the bone.
