Euro Parliament Elections 2019

Post by Svartalf » Sat May 18, 2019 8:09 pm

It's incredible, in France we have 30 some lists competing for the voter's attention, some from organisations so small and poor they ask the voters to download and print their own ballot... I think that up to now, the list that has the most chance of getting my vote, if they provide ballots, is the Pirate party. they'll never get to the required 5% votes to get a rep elected, but they are the least repellant group to me at the current time, I'm impatiently waiting for the electoral literature to be distributed to see if I change my mind or not... odds are, I'm not voting along with any major party anyway.

I think we should decide it by an international competition to find the best song.

well, I might want to launch one, but I'm stumped about the platform and how to conduct my advertisement campaign.

Vlad from Moscow can help with that. The only person who seems to be excited by the election here in the UK is Nigel -- he's on everything at the moment, even popped up in Edinburgh the other day -- though he somewhat resents being grilled about his political beliefs and aspirations. This, he says, is biased reporting.

Well I voted but we will not know the result until Sunday. I see the UK EU elections were a mess (who is surprised?).

UK government may face court action after EU citizens denied vote
People reportedly turned away from European election polling booths due to admin errors

The government is facing calls to launch an urgent investigation into the treatment of EU citizens in the European elections after many people reported being denied their democratic right to vote.

Voters across the country told of their devastation at finding their names crossed off the register due to clerical errors by local councils. Experts said the situation was a “scandal we knew was coming” and that the government may have a case to answer in court.

The affected voters said they felt they were being “silenced” as this was the only election they had a right to participate in, being ineligible to vote in the referendum or general elections.

The Labour MP David Lammy said the election system amounted to “ugly discrimination” for people who had endured “three years of being insulted, exploited and asked to apply to stay in their own homes”.
The country has really gone to the dogs. Farage will be happy as which EU citizen would vote for him.
"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".

Just voted. All candidates with strong environmental platforms and track records backing those policies. In local and EU elections. Not a single neoliberal, denier, or any politician who ever gave the US president even a mild compliment got a vote.
