No Jim. To be fair and balanced you must sit down with Nazis, white supremacists, and other hateful bigots and discuss their point of view calmly and rationally in order to better understand it, preferably over tea and crumpets.
Dude, nobody says you have to "sit down" with anyone and calmly discuss anything with them.
The problem is that people who aren't Nazis get labeled that, because that's the strategy of the left -- demonize their opposition - you call a Trump supporter a "Nazi" - then you get to punch and beat him, and smash his car - he's a Nazi after all. You don't peacefully protest Nazis, you should kill them, but failing that, at least beat them.
And, if you think the progressive left is going to win the battle of violence - think again. Remember, this isn't a one-way street. If some blue haired "Trump is not my President" trans-fluid tough guy starts beating Trump supporters under the rubric that they are "Nazis" then you're going to get, eventually, some who aren't going to take that shit lying down. Who do you think will win these street fights?
That's the problem here - is that you don't get to sit unmolested, blithely declaring who is a Nazi and who isn't - and throw the needed punches, set the needed fires, and smash the needed taillights. Once you do that, you are a violent thug, and people get to defend themselves and others against you.
And, if you get to declare this or that conservative to be "Nazis" and then punch them, then they will start to likewise declare your side another form of persona non grata - communist, socialist, anarchist - all quite punchable. Oh, you don't think there are any real communists? Well, who gave you the sole right to determine who are punchable Nazis, but others don't have the same right to declare folks to be punchable communists?
Are you going to rely on the police to be Progressive and side with your good guys?
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar
