They are playing hard ball for sure, but if May came up with a proposal they can live with they aren’t going to say no out of principle because ‘the EU says it and that is all that matters’. They aren’t that dumb.

at this late stage, I fear that the only solution would be May browbeating every body into repealing the art 50 declaration and remaining inside the union, the likelyhood of this happening seems to me me less than survival of a frog at a snakes convention, though.
