it's not about qualification, it's about schmooze, and she's lacking in that area, plus, she was the most publicly cuckolded woman in America since I don't know when, and swallowed it like it was nothing, showing to the public she had no self respect. Then she starts a high level political career on the back of bill's contacts which the public had trouble swallowing... she might have been even better qualified than she actually is, she simply disqualified herself in the eyes of many voters... and she was lucky to be facing the frump, a GOP candidate worth his salt (say, Eisenhower class) would have won by a landslide instead of having to rely on the abomination that is the electoral college.

....and the people no longer like the establishment...they want brash cheap new money, and they are no longer too interested in blue blood, vieux riche.

Yeah, Bill would be reelected anytime! She is establishment, no question, but so is Donald, so were the Bushes, to mention but three.
Trump is not establishment that is why he has never been accepted by the Koch Bros etc.
Yes, the faction that opposes Trump are the Bill Kristol "war machine" folks, and the neoconservatives of the previous 20 years. John McCain crowd. https://www.thenation.com/article/the-r ... ald-trump/ It's the never-Trump, Hillary-Clinton-foreign-policy establishment -- they become marooned on the lonely island of never-Trump. https://www.politico.com/magazine/story ... ent-213898

And, it's funny, the Democrat establishment has rushed to the defense of the Republican neoconservative establishment, saying "hey! you can't do that to them! only we can do that to them!"

Bill Clinton was a Wall Street shill. By the time Hillary acted just like him people had woken up to it, and a sufficient number decided there won't be more of the same. Unfortunately, both the Democrat establishment and the Republicans combined to beat up on the candidate with the sanest policies that stood a chance of being acceptable by the denizens of the land of the free, Bernie Sanders, which had the even more unfortunate result of Trump becoming POTUS.

President Donald Trump displayed a deep misunderstanding of his own authority Tuesday, bemoaning that he didn't fire FBI Director James Comey back when he won the Republican primary, or at least after the Republican convention, in an interview with the Hill.

Barack Obama was still President during both of those events and vested with the power to fire Comey.

"If I did one mistake with Comey, I should have fired him before I got here. I should have fired him the day I won the primaries," Trump told the Hill. "I should have fired him right after the convention, say I don't want that guy. Or at least fired him the first day on the job. I would have been better off firing him or putting out a statement that I don't want him there when I get there."

Hasn't he bragged about being more elite than 'the elites'? He has establishment written all the way through him - he's courted the establishment, he's honoured and admired them all his life. He's built palatial hotels for them and exclusive golf courses. The candidate with the money won the election - so it goes... so it goes...

What says so comrade? The establishment is everything and everyone who helps apply the oppressive jackboot of the wealthy to the sallow throat of the lumpen proletariat.

He's rich, but he's not in the political establishment. He wasn't invited to their parties.
GOP elites fear Donald Trump, who they worry they won't be able to control. And they flat-out hate Ted Cruz (some members of the GOP establishment, like Lindsey Graham, can barely contain their fury at finding themselves endorsing the Texas senator).
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the ... c5c3f31418 Some came right out and said they'd vote for Hillary Clinton, or just openly opposed Trump: George HW Bush, George W. Bush, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Graham, John Kasich, George Pataki, William Bennett, Michael Chertoff, Robert Gates, Condoleeza Rice, Colkn Powell, Tom Ridge, George Schultz, Christie Todd Whitman, John McCain, Arnold Swartzenegger, Joe Scarborough --- 11 current sitting US Senators - half the Republican Governors -- hosts of current and former Republican officials -- The list goes on and on - they strongly opposed Donald Trump and many were part of the "neverTrump" movement - dozens and dozens and dozens of well known and not as well known names and faces - currently serving or recently served in government - openly opposing and working against the Republican nominee.

That never happened before.

Hillary Clinton spent far far more money than he did - she spent about double.
