Re: Hard Brexit or Hard Brexit
I literally laughed out loud when I saw that headline. May. Take control.Brexit: Raab 'sidelined' as May takes control of EU negotiations
Theresa May has taken back control of crucial negotiations with Brussels from her new Brexit secretary just hours after the government published its white paper on withdrawing from the European Union.
And Raab seems to have caught the Maybot disease:
He added: “We’ve been very clear – there’s no tension between us, I think that’s clear – that all the advice and all the meetings will be attended by me with the PM and all the advice will come to me.”
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Raab admits planning to secure food supply for no-deal BrexitPsychoSerenity wrote:I think I might start buying tinned food every time I go shopping and stockpile it. The kind of trade delays we could face if we leave with no deal could easily see a couple week's of empty shelves and skyrocketing prices before the government gets their act together.
Brexit secretary Dominic Raab has admitted that the government will have to take steps to ensure that there are adequate food supplies for Britain to cover the eventuality of a no-deal departure from the European Union.
In testimony to the Brexit select committee on Tuesday, the minister dismissed claims that the government was stockpiling provisions. However, he acknowledged that it would work with the food industry to ensure that a no-deal outcome would not disrupt supply....

What does Raab know anymore? May has demoted him to behind the pot plants.

Re: Hard Brexit or Hard Brexit
I think May's 'taking back control' move has been long overdue. Internal party politics has demanded that she put someone in charge of negotiating with the EU who fundamentally objects to negotiating with the EU. She's also trying to prove herself worthy and play the Tory hero with a huge political sacrifice, placing the entire responsibility for whatever happens in her own lap and not the party's. I'm sure that'll be a great comfort to her when she's sipping vino on the terrace of her Tuscan villa and wondering about what might have been after B-Day.
