I did watch Guardians of the Galaxy just to see but the story was so simplistic it was :bored:

I found Guardians pretty annoying. But I did like the lead actor, and the rodent was funny.

Fucking loved Dr Strange, though. Mainly because of Thundersnatch and Tilda Swinton.

Yeah. Sounds like they've jacked the ridiculousness level up to 11. Dr Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy now too? Why isn't the X-Men in there to make it totally ridiculous? I assume that will be coming in a later iteration... :/
Because Fox own the X-Men franchise for now. Not Disney. Spider-Man is on loan from Sony.

That said, Disney recently bought Fox so we should see them when they hand them over in about 3 years.

There's really only the 4 main Avengers have stories in Infinity War. Each has a team of newbies backing them. It's incredibly well juggled. Even better so than some other movies with less characters.

Dr. Strange is great in Infinity War. The clash of egos with Stark is very funny.

Well you don't have the room do you? Even your motorways have big screens in places to shield the residential areas from them.

I'm not a fan of the Metro Centre and its ilk but at least we have the option of going there. Prior to it being built that whole area was slowly decaying abandoned steel and heavy industry plants - as was so much of the North East. I think I know which I prefer.
They are noise screens. Some thing you seldom see in the UK. There is a simple rule here; everyone is entitled to have a noise level of 65 dB in their homes. Out of town shopping centres were banned. We dont want dead town centres. Any way the Dutch dont like them (there have been many surveys). I find them hideous and filthy dumps. Never mind all the journeys they generate; great for the environment.
Well you need noise screens because you guys are jammed in there like sardines. We have regulations about how far away residential areas should be from motorways because we have a bit more space.

I use to make noise models for various locations. Expensive software but gave a great picture. We have a norm of 65 dB in houses. Also in the countryside. Density of housing has a positive effect on noise reduction. Open countryside is a bigger problem. Sound travels strangely enough. A house many kilometres away can be affected so you still have build noise screens. You can do a lot with them as well:

Not so built up there.

Not a movie, but a stand-up comedy show. I'm hesitant to call it comedy though because it's so much more than that. A very powerful and sometimes painful performance. Absolutely blown away by it.

Guardians of the Galaxy was entirely awesome. And, besides:

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Just watched Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water, and I've come to two conclusions:
1) It is the most beautiful film I've ever seen.
2) I am absolutely in love with Sally Hawkins.

Been dithering about seeing that. Watched another critically acclaimed film ‘You Were Never Really Here’ a couple of days ago. It was Ok if a bit gloomy to say the least. Not sure it deserved all the rave reviews though.

This Wes Anderson movie is as brilliant as you'd expect.

Annihilation. Meh.

If you've read the books then best avoided. If you've seen the film but haven't read the books, get thee to a bookshop.
