Donald Trump, the man who positioned himself as the common man's shield against Wall Street, signed a series of orders today [3 February, 2017] calling for reviews or rollbacks of financial regulations. He did so after meeting with some friendly helpers.

Here's how CNBC described the crowd of Wall Street CEOs Trump received, before he ordered a review of both the Dodd-Frank Act and the fiduciary rule requiring investment advisors to act in their clients' interests:

"Trump also will meet at the White House with leading CEOs, including JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon, Blackstone's Steve Schwarzman, and BlackRock's Larry Fink."

Leading the way for this assortment of populist heroes will be former Goldman honcho Gary Cohn, now Trump's chief economic advisor.

Dimon, Schwarzman, Fink and Cohn collectively represent a rogues gallery of the creeps most responsible for the 2008 crash. It would be hard to put together a group of people less sympathetic to the non-wealthy.

Trump's approach to Wall Street is in sharp contrast to his tough-talking stances on terrorism. He talks a big game when slamming the door on penniless refugees, but curls up like a beach weakling around guys who have more money than he does.

So while I was trolling incels on the Amy Schumer new movie trailer last night, one of them brought Trump into it and actually blamed the likes of her, making fun of Trump before he even had a chance, for the division and lack of unity in America. Never mind Trump's racism and bigotry, his ties with the Alt-Right, who even in the same comment section were represented saying all types of horrible shit about Amy, and his cabinet picks of further Christian bigots and Family First homophobes - it is the people who called him on this who are to blame!

These people really do live in an alternate reality. Especially since Trump has been given a chance since Amy made fun of him and has royally fucked up and is leaking popularity.

During the debate over Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions' Cabinet confirmation on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked Sen. Elizabeth Warren from speaking out against the controversial attorney general nominee. As she expressed concern for Sessions' behavior toward black Americans, Warren was suddenly interrupted and was not allowed to continue her remarks. Video of McConnell's interruption of Warren showed the troubling confrontation.

The video below shows Warren addressing the Senate, when she is stopped by McConnell. McConnell addressed Montana GOP Sen. Steve Daines, who was presiding over the Senate at that time, and accused Warren of violating the Senate's Rule 19.

DeVos foes promise to make her job hell

The fight to derail DeVos, while unsuccessful, has united a wide variety of advocates.


It was a fight to end confirmation fights — for an education secretary, no less. And after all the protests and phone calls against Betsy DeVos culminated in an all-night Democratic vigil on the Senate floor, Vice President Mike Pence cast a tie-breaking vote to confirm her Tuesday — setting the stage for more bruising fights ahead.

All indications are the same groups galvanized by DeVos’ nomination are mobilizing for new battles on issues ranging from tuition vouchers and protections for LGBT students in schools, to free speech and sexual assault disciplinary policies on college campuses.

Members of teachers unions, civil rights groups and parents organizations who jammed Senate phone lines say they plan to keep the spotlight on the Michigan megadonor and advocate of charter schools — and to devote their energy to scrutinizing the Department of Education.
