At least that’s the conclusion of a new paper by cosmologist Fergus Simpson, who has estimated that the average weight of intelligent extraterrestrials would be 650 pounds (300 kilograms) or more. ET would have paled in comparison to these interstellar behemoths.

To me it just looks silly, there's simply no scientific data to allow such predictions, and if we're ther, at the size we are, there certainly isn't any necessity for aliens to be huge...
then again I did not get the hutt joke either, but I hate hutts and the SW franchise

The limited resolution with current planet detection methods, star wobbles and pixel blips, will lead to spotting big planets first and dumb apes thinking big animals - safe to assume small planets will be more common than big once the data trawl becomes more accurate, law of averages. The aliens will be little green men as they always have been on the day the saucers land....and they start taking over the shop.
