I didn't say it was new. It's more convenient because we don't have crappy connections anymore. Vive la indifference!

No doubt. I can't imagine any other incentive, since only the minority elite are allowed to use the internet.

NK, taking the battle against the Amerikan Hegemon onto the field of copyright law. We don't want to fight but by jingo if we do, we've got the wires, we've got the the geeks, we've got the servers too.

There's probably better streaming sites. Haven't done it in a while.
Where are these movies hosted?

North Korea, bastion of freedom and liberty, protector of the rights of the individual.

If freedom means anything, it means the right to copy and republish someone else's book, movie or music without paying for it.

Wasn't daddy a huge western movie fan? He'd have loved to host TPB in exchange for early screeners.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Yes, Zilla, everyone in the DPRK can download any content they want for free, except that they aren't allowed access to the internet, only the DPRK's 'intranet" that has about 12 websites on it, most of which official 'party' sites and others preaching "juche."

Freedom!

You definitely know you're in a free country when the police kindly register each of your radios and televisions, and verify that the tuner tunes to the approved government channels and stations. And, they're up to 55 televisions per 1,000 households, and a few thousand government officials have limited access to the internet. That's a wonderful achievement, and edifice-like monument to freedom.

No, I understood you. I was just carrying it forward.

I find the OP's notion of Pirate Bay moving to the DPRK to find freedom amusing, and also illustrative of exactly where the member posting the OP is coming from in various political discussions -- a place divorced from any resemblance to reality, to the point where Salvador Dali would say 'man, that's freaky!"

That's the problem with being an extremist like Sandi. You have to take what little you can find when it comes to like-minded people. The America First Movement comes to mind.
