It's dark and nobody know's who's shooting and why. So EVERYBODY shoots everybody.
It's every american's right.
This would be the more than likely scenario with a theater filled with CCW's.

In this instance I'd say so. I'm sure there are many instances where they would help though. I'm not against CCW in case I came across that way.

Me either, I generally support CCW in the vast majority of situations.

That you know of. You weren't at the fireworks with Wumbo and I.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

I didn't, Wumbo did. I was distracted by the strobe thingy.

It was a joke about how you shot some photos :sigh:

I need to sop making jokes with oblique references.

Maybe someone got shot while you were distracted by the strobe? :ask:

I'm shocked no one started shooting off guns during the fireworks.

Me neither. I get a warm glow, to know that the person next to me is going to start shooting the first chance he gets to be a hero. I mean, it's not as if the nutters would want guns is it?

You can be sure that anybody who starts shooting is a highly trained expert, not some sad wanker who is hoping for a chance to be a big man. Sad wankers are not attracted to weapons. We know that.

I've often thought, after some mild altercation with a stranger, why on earth didn't someone pull out a gun and threaten him, instead of agreeing to differ. It's just political correctness gone mad.

I'm sure the dead people from the cinema would be horrified if it ever came about that you couldn't carry and own guns. They might be dead, but at least they're dead free.

In this situation, at least, someone in the crowd deciding to fire back would probably not have been of any help. In fact, it is more likely that they would injure or kill people in the crowd than the gunman. Firing wildly in his general direction would not deter someone who was so obviously prepared, both physically and mentally, for this attack.

Neither is this a score point for anti-gun activists, especially anti-gun activists who cloak the weakness of their argument by casting aspersions on their opposite number. *cough*

The young woman in one of the articles listed above survived the shooting rampage at the Eaton's Centre in Toronto, Canada - where we have fairly strict gun control laws. The fact is nutters and criminals do not follow the niceties of laws restricting the possession of weapons.

I had a bunch of fireworks here for Ian but never got a chance to give them to him.
