Finally! A degree in SCIENCE.

I can understand why al Gore might receive an honorary degree, but why is Dolly Parton receiving one? :nono:

Well, young man, DP is a living legend in Tennessee, a multi-millionaire who rose from abject poverty to stardom in the music business and has her share of gold and platinum records. She has given generously to Tennessee charities, operates a popular entertainment park and museum (called "Dollywood"), has extended herself in many volunteer efforts to assist groups like Habitat for Humanities, and is a beloved daughter of Tennessee.

I am not at all surprised to hear of this honorary degree being awarded to her. She is more than deserving of it.

Habitat For Humanities? that's interesting... didn't realize that Dolly was a postmodernist...

and only in the Bible Belt would Dollywood be considered a positive contribution

laying aside her contributions to the blight that is 99.99% of Country Music, i think Dolly is great, and has a wonderful warm self effacing personality which hides a lot of brains and savvy
