The ice doesn't look too bad to me. Considering that the orange line is the mean. Which means that some years have more than that, and some less.
The orange line is the median, an it doesn't mean that. Go and do a stats course.

Climate Depot statement: “Climate skeptics are thrilled that one of the very first visible changes of the transition of power between President Obama and President Trump is the booting of “climate change” from the White House website. Trump is truly going to make science great again and reject the notion that humans are the control knob of the climate and UN treaties and EPA regulations can somehow regulate temperature and storminess. Welcome to the era of sound science!”
:{D
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

First thing he should do is cut the gravy-train budgets that have been feeding this shit for years.
Pay some real scientists to do some real work instead.

I purrrrdict that NASA is going to be short of money for a few years.

Lol. What's a real climate scientist? One that doesn't bring you uncomfortable truths or frightening scenarios?

It's almost as if the term 'climate scienxe' is being made a byword for malevolent corruption.

A real scientist is one who sticks to the real facts, and doesn't dress up speculation as fact.

Proper scientists are not afraid to say "I don't know, but I suspect".

And how do the predictive models of scientist not do exactly that when it comes to understanding our climate? Science isn't soothsaying, nor is predicated on absolute truth.

I wonder if Trump will be more ecumenical with the different schools of climate science or simply slash funding for the AGW people and give grants to their opposites.

What different schools of climate science? The 99.9% of published scientists who agree that humans are having an effect on the atmosphere vs the 0.01% who don't?

I expect that once the funding is there, and it isn't career suicide any longer, you'll see those numbers change.

Science doesn't work like that. If people publish bad data or make weak or unsupported conclusions then their work is put aside by other scientists in the field, and vice-versa. This painting scientists as invested (emotionally, psychologically, financially, politically) in one story over another just doesn't happen. Science is just too broad an endeavour to get everybody in a field 'on message' regardless of the data nor do funding bodies decide what conclusions scientists should come up with before they begin their research. Climate science denialism is fuelled by people who have a strong political objection to data-driven conclusions, not scientific objections to critical methodologies. Look, just find some reputable sources and read the science for a year. Don't base your views on what other people are telling you what you should think about what climate scientists are saying - read what scientists are actually saying, and why they're saying it.

But climate science does.
