In US use, once you buy the seed you are required by contract to use certain quantities of chemicals. Which the seed maker also makes.

So our use of chemicals, including roundup, is overkill.

I wonder if this is also the case here. In French law tied sales (we sell you this only if you also buy that) are not allowed, then again, I don't know how faithfully the law is followed... it's well known that big brew companies tie pub owners hand and food and make them serve brands that the brewer approves only.
