Society is a far more fluid and slippery construct than most people imagine. And economy, its engine, should be seen in the same light. We are two generations from the aztecs and removing hearts on top of pyramids as a cultural style accessory. There's been no moral progress - and there will never be since mans instinct is for himself. Doesn't mean with some effort, inception like, ideas placed in the minds of otherwise weakwilled 'coal gatherers' that climate change cannot be averted. Ideas can make babies appear...religions are great at that. The power of ideas or memes to determine the fate of people or genes....look at the birthrates.
