Hawking's PhD
Written in 1966 and no doubt completely unintelligible to me - if not a few clever clogses here it is now available to download from Cambridge University. The demand was so great this morning that the site crashed. It is all about what happens when the universe expands and you can find it here:

(just tried and it is 'down for maintenance)

Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late
Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...

His ideas are interesting. Prefer the gravistar alternative idea myself....singularities where the laws of the universe cease to function, that's like Marvel comic universe territory (too bizarre even for me).
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

He knows his wrong - he's aware of the possibilities in his own field. Too much credibility at stake though.JimC wrote:I'm sure he'll be mortified by your preference...Crumple wrote:His ideas are interesting. I was more impressed by his Oscar win.
100% verifiable facts or your money back. Anti-fascist. Enemy of woo - theistic or otherwise. Cloth is not an antiviral. Imagination and fantasy is no substitute for tangible reality. Wishing doesn't make it real.
