It's surely among one of species' greatest achievements?

Our greatest achievement is cheese.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I think it is personally. Dev makes a good point or two as well about attention span and CGI. There is another CGI issue too though and that is that watching commentary on the news or for that matter in documentaries I have seen a lot of the images taken by the probe are mixed with CGI animations or composites of various kinds and they rarely if ever make it clear when we are seeing that rather than actual images captured by Cassini. This may be because of the nature of the data that Cassini beamed back to earth which could be assembled in a variety of way - I'm not sure to be honest. Clarity would be helpful,

A small point however when thinking of the magnificence of what they achieved.

What annoys me more than the CGI is the never-ending, heroically epic soundtrack that accompanies it. I don't need my popular science to be emotionally underscored. I'd rather listen to Sagan speaking from an armchair than watch countless helicopter shots of Brian Cox on a mountain top or glacier declaring the universe "Amaaazing!" to the sound of Sigur Rós.
