If human life itself could be commoditized, it makes sense with increased automation the value of human labour will tend towards zero. Hence human life will become superfluous.
It will make economic sense to exterminate, and since there will be no consumption, the pollution of the planet will cease.
A win-win situation for all, I'd say.
