Re: Corn
we raise too much corn, and the supply of seeds is cheap enough to produce corn cheaply for making ethanol...though the math is fuzzy.
Now there is a problem.

not quite clear why you would use seed corn for it. Seed corn is protected to chemicals to make every seed sprout.
it seemed to say they sent all the contaminated corn to the one ethanol plant, whereas the rest do indeed give the protein rich remains (still bottoms) to farms as cattle feed.

Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Turn stone to bread right away...

Re: Corn
LOL,
yeah, Indian corn is totally overcultivated, including in places it never should (places that don't have the required subtropical climate, or the abundant waterfall for instance, dustbowl anyone?)... Basically, corn growing is NOT environmentally friendly, and even less so when the cultivation is heavy on intrants.
