I'm watching a Swedish noir thriller series, and I've identified some amazing facts about sweden. When you say goodbye affectionately, you say "puss". So when two people who love each other say goodbye, the dialogue goes "puss puss". And both hello and regular goodbye are "hey". I like that.

I watched The Bridge a few years ago. I really enjoy getting a feel for other countries by watching their movie and TV output (I love Japanese films for example). Sweden always looks clean and the furniture always looks like it is from IKEA - or an up market version of IKEA.

BUT - it is always DARK!

Well it is. Like Scotland we had long summer nights but we had more darkness. Long dark winter days are bad for the soul. Swedes are into relationships big time. It is one the things they worry about the most.

Ever notices Swedish front doors? They always open outwards.
