Fracking so productive and cheap to run that methane out of it is just wasted.

It's not wasted at all, Tero. It's helping to warm up the Earth to defeat the next Ice Age!

(somewhere in the right wing bowels of the internet, I'm sure there will be a pseudo-scientific position that Greenhouse gases are our friend, staving off the return of the glaciers...)

Lots and the next ice age is already cancelled. Tis the next century that is "interesting times" even if we stopped cold now.

Cool. There will be mass migrations due to sea level rise and desertification, armed conflicts over resources, disease migration toward the poles with temperature increase, and possible return of past pandemics due to melting permafrost. Increasing CO2 levels will lead to cognitive decay in people, wildfires and floods will increase exponentially, and whole countries will go bankrupt. Australia is especially vulnerable. We live in interesting times!

If we only had land at the poles, we could escape there. There were quite tropical plants in Lapland once.
