Discrete Mathematics

Is fucking odd. It appears to be the science of making the simple and intuitive complex and confusing by the liberal use of arcane notation. I'm getting rather annoyed with banging my head against the notation only to discover what they are trying to get across is something mind numbingly simple.
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

I have a copy of KA Strouds Laplace Transforms which is sadly out of print now. It is modular and makes the whole thing easy.
