What Hit Venus?

It's going backwards - must have been a big boot in the face to do that to a planet similar in size to this one? When, where and what? :smoke:

I wasn't there. I don't even know the lady. And besides, we're just friends.

Venus was knocked down by a beardy bloke in a Ford Transit.

Who was caught in the act by CCTV, the plates were tracked down, and it was found to be an embassy vehicle from Bahrain and no charges were filed.

I'll be damned. I'm embarrassed that I didn't know that about Venus' rotation. Now I understand the OP.

It must have been very very early in the planet's history, before the crust had formed (no hint of a giant crater on the modern surface).

I blame Kepler! :lay:

Or was he all about Mars? :ask: Yeah, I think he was all about Mars. Nvm.

Could be the impacter was large enough to completely melt the crust but why no moon? Surely there's gonna be even more spray early in the history leading to a even larger moon than ours or multiple moons? It doesn't make sense that the thing was large enough to send the planet backwards but didn't leave enough debris in orbit to form a moon or three? Could be Jupiter stole it/them? :nono:

I thought as soon as I read this thread title someone would be making comments about Venus being a woman and particularly a hit by a car reference. :hehe:

Is it really that strange?
Surely it just formed that way when all the dust, gases, and what not came together.

The bigger question why do some nations drive on the wrong side of the road?

I don't think my transit of Venus jape got the credit it deserved, frankly.
