If you could, what basic law of nature would you change?

I would reduce gravity on earth by about 20% and go bounding all over the Cumbrian fells!

Edit: Make that 40%!

I'd amend the law of primogenture so that I got all of the old brute's horses and dogs.

I was thinking how it'd interesting to have variable time, but then it occured to me that even now, if time were to slow down, speed up or reverse itself, sputter a bit or even stop altogether we would have no way to detect it, because everything we might have to detect time with is caught up in time. That is, if there is a such thing as time outside our perception, which is not a sure thing, either.

I would subtly alter the various constants to achieve a universe where the sermon of the week involves esoteric aspects of quadratic equations with complex coefficients, and holy communion is purely gin based...

You know that by that method, as a junior Stuart, I am probably in front of you by order of precedence, though there are plenty folk in my family who are senior to me.

The Peter Principle.

What?!

What do you mean, "That's not a basic law of nature."?

Well, I'd reverse Murphy's law... of course, that will put perpetual motion research back by centuries, but' we'll be happier in the meantime.

Well you have the freedom to change whatever laws you like, so if you like you can stand outside time and watch the rest of it at whatever speed you like!

I'm not sure what fun would be had mind you, unless you could step in, undetected and tweak stuff!

Wot? The Cumbrian fells are cold enough already. Do that and all the brass monkeys would move to Venus.

Why, aging of course. The perfect scenario would be to live as long as I want in a perfect body, then die naturally when I've decided I've had enough.

Violate the principle of conservation of energy by increasing the amount of energy generated be sub atomic fusion by 0.0000000001% in the hopes that this would allow the universe to avoid eventually defaulting to a dead empty space just above absolute zero.
Nobody expects me...
