Left, Right! Left, Right! Pick up the pace now!!

Post by Clinton Huxley » Thu Feb 16, 2012 8:08 am

As one who regards tardiness of perambulation a capital offence, it provokes a sneer of schadenfreude to see this - walking slowly is a predictor of dementia.
So come on, slow-coaches, pick up the pace and avoid dementia AND my boot in your backside!

I'm walking backwards for Christmas, across the Irish Sea...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

Few things infuriate me more, and I'm often and prodigiously infuriated by most things, than being stuck behind a human snail.

Just muse on them being covered in garlic, butter, parsley, with a dash of white wine...

Indeed, not only because they are slow, but because they are spineless.

Those are pre-dementia symptoms, they're drooling.

I'm scared for myself now, I enjoy a good drool and sometimes a froth. I foam at the lips on special occassions.

I'm the fastest walker I know (excluding race walkers of course), so I'm forever having to weave my way past sluggish humanity :hmph:

With apologies...

Old people walk slower. Old people have dementia. Therefore old slow people have dementia.

I don't mind if people walk slowly; that's fine. What annoys me is people who walk slowly and meander around the middle of the path. Fucking stick to one side and let me get passed! :lay: And if there's a group of people, or even just a couple walking side by side, they manage to spread out and completely occupy even the widest of pavements, totally unaware of anyone else around them. Either they need mirrors, or I need a horn.
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Riding a bicycle on a sidewalk will show you how random people on foot can be. Sudden stops, changes in direction, including complete reversal of direction, and grouping so as to take up the entire sidewalk are just a few of their tricks. :sadcheer:
