I think they're onto something. After all, we used them in World War II against the Germans:

They were useful for German flak batteries. They could calculate speed, direction and altitude thanks to those long fingers of cloud. :nono:

It's pathetic that there are conspiracy sites which actually use photos like that as "evidence." Well, pathetic, and almost infuriating.

I once saw a guy show a broken twig and claimed it was evidence bigfoot had been that way. :roll:
