Someone has figured out a new way to focus light on a CCD sensor. It creates a picture that contains focused light from all the sources in the frame. You can focus on anything in the frame, by which I mean, click on it and it comes into focus. Obviously you can only look at this format on a computer, but a handheld (iPod or whatnot) is sufficient.
They'll be available next year. The linked article contains a link to the manufacturer's web site. Enjoy.
Just before posting I checked and Cunt and Jack have been discussing it on a pictures thread. It's the same Lytro gadget; this is the Wired review. Carry on.

This camera takes pics that is - or can be - in focus at any point you choose. Apparently you just click on the image and it puts the focus there. Cool...
